Growth

You don’t have to try to grow up as a baby, it just happens. You look up one day and you don’t even remember some of your growing up days. Spiritual growth however, is nothing like your physical growth.

Living a life close to God’s heart doesn’t just happen. You don’t wake up in the will of God and you certainly don’t stumble into a life of obedience. Spiritual growth is a concerted daily effort, it doesn’t happen by accident. Your life experiences will move you regardless, but the direction you are moved is up to you. In school, you went to class to learn, you didn’t miss classes and expect to learn and grow. Are you purposefully working towards your personal growth, moving closer to God and his perfect will for your life? Or, are you sitting back waiting for growth to happen on its own, inevitably moving further away from the purpose of your life.
