A Deep Knowing

Josh and I didn’t get an easy button when we said I do. We spent intentional time studying one another to come to the deep knowledge and understanding we share now.

Because of this deep knowing we are able to communicate effectively and efficiently. I don’t have to beg him for anything or desperately try to convince him of my needs. He listens to me, he understands, and he provides based on what he has already promised me in our vows and in our lives together. He is good like that.

Although he knows me and I him, I still have to make my requests known. But, because of our intimate knowledge of one another, I know how to come to him and make requests. When I ask, I am confident he will respond in my favor, whether the answer is yes or no, when I am asking in line with our shared values and his prior commitments to me as his wife. I know his character and the promises he’s kept and will continue to keep. We know this of one another and can access everything each other has to offer because of the deep knowledge and love we share

We can only fully access what God offers, by deeply knowing and loving him. But that doesn’t happen suddenly when we marry him through our salvation. We have to learn him and study who was, is, and will be. Only when we know who he is, what he has done, and what he will do because of what he has promised, can we access the fullness of his offerings towards us when we come to him in prayer.

Do you deeply know God enough to pray his word, remind him of his promises, and be confident He will gladly give an answer to your requests? He has given us promises to cash in and his word stands forever. Deeply know the Lord your God and watch your requests evolve into sweet words in his ear as answers flood your doorstep.
