Dehydration

Recently I began drinking a gallon of water a day. I had this mental picture that by the end of the first week my skin would be full on melanin goals and I’d be taking selfies in the sunshine using ridiculous hashtags.

But up until last week, I hadn’t been giving my body the water it needed, so toxins had free reign and had built up. When I finally quenched my body’s thirst, those toxins didn’t just disintegrate, they slithered towards the surface to expose and excavate themselves.

When we are spiritually dehydrated, the toxins of our sins are at work inside creating damage we don’t always see immediately. When we finally take a swig of living water and are filled with the Holy Spirit, God flushes out everything else out. But He doesn’t just adios the toxins and pretend they were never there, He brings our destructive transgressions to light so that alongside Him, we can address each one and remove it from our lives. Don’t be surprised or dismayed when you seek God and sin is exposed. Be thankful that God in His grace examines our innermost being and offers refreshing renewal.

John 7:37-39 “On the final and climactic day of the Feast, Jesus took his stand. He cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the Scripture says.”
